Founded in 1992, the Enchanté String Quartet is an experienced and versatile ensemble that has performed for weddings, receptions, parties and corporate events throughout northern California.

The group has an extensive repertoire, from classical favorites to light jazz, pop and broadway showtunes. The Enchanté String Quartet is sure to add a note of romance and elegance to your upcoming event.

Marcie Brown has a Master's Degree in classical cello from the Manhattan School of Music. She studied chamber music with the Julliard String Quartet and the Tokyo String Quartet. Ms. Brown's quintet was chosen to perform the Schubert C Major String Quintet for Itzak Perlman's 50th birthday party. She has performed in chamber and ethnic music groups throughout the Bay Area, and when she is not playing classical music, she specializes in improvisation.
Mary Tanios is an Oakland native and has studied violin since the age of seven. She performed in the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra under the direction of Kent Nagano and was concertmaster of the Pomona College Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Peter Jaffe. She has played in chamber music ensembles extensively over the last twenty years, including 14 years with the Enchanté String Quartet. She performs regularly as a free lance violinist in local symphonies, community orchestras and theater productions.
Anthony Blea is the newest member of the quartet. He received his Bachelors Degree from the Manhattan School of Music and Master's Degree from SF Conservatory of Music. Anthony performs regularly in his Latin band Anthony Blea y su Charanga.
Laura Douglas To look back on Laura's music study is to recall the past 22 years. An original violist, she was mentored at an early age by Charlene Welch in private school programs. Laura then went on to study classical viola performance with Jim Hurley and the late Nathan Rubin at Cal State Hayward University. Her early performances include those with San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (1990 - 1996) twice touring Europe with the orchestra. She has played with Diablo Symphony, Holy Names College Orchestra, Prometheus Orchestra, Diablo Light Opera Company, Crossroads Theatre Association, among other theatre companies. She has performed in over 30 musical productions around The Bay Area. She is a founding member of The Enchanté String Quartet where she says her heart lies. The Quartet has been together in one form or another for nearly 15 years. The highlight of Enchanté was the 2001 KPFA radio show in which the quartet collaborated on an improvisation set. Laura is keenly interested in new styles & techniques, performing the masters, and recording.
