live in northern California but I’m looking for a summer internship in LA within the Public Relations sector of the entertainment industry. I have a 3.75 GPA and lots of extra curricular activities from school. What is the best way to land an EXCELLENT PR internship and where should I look? Who should I talk to? The more detailed the better. I have so much drive for this career that I’ll try anything within reason to get a great job!

Try to enroll early, no later than March 1 but I would start sending resumes during Xmas break.
Save all of your work. PR agencies are more interested in the work you can do than your GPA. So anything written, produced or created you should put in a file and send it with your resume. (Most agencies require at least 3 written examples of your work)
The best place I found to search for firms is the area’s Chamber of Commerce website you can use their search tools to search for specific companies and 99.9% of the time they will have a web link to the company’s home page. (I included a few links below.) GOOD LUCK.
